Pat Chiocchio is a lifelong resident of Welland and a well-known local politician. His 14+ years of experience on Welland City Council, and four years on Regional Council, have earned him a reputation as a dedicated, passionate, and effective representative. Voted in favour of the strongest option for a natural heritage system in the Region’s Official Plan.
Voted in favour of the Region’s first whistleblower policy so that staff can report issues and concerns without fear of reprisal.

Pat Chiocchio is a lifelong resident of Welland and a well-known local politician. His 14+ years of experience on Welland City Council, and four years on Regional Council, have earned him a reputation as a dedicated, passionate, and effective representative. As the former Adult Day Program Co-ordinator with the Niagara Region, Pat knows the importance of accessibility, the need for inter-municipal transit, age-friendly communities, long-term care facilities, and access to health care.
Over the last three years Niagara Region has invested over $20 million, which when combined with funds from other levels of government totals over $43 million, into bringing more affordable housing into the market. At the Region, Pat will continue to focus on incentive programs for new developments to include affordable housing and fight homelessness.
Upon re-election, Pat will continue to work to ensure that Welland receives its fair share of infrastructure funding to address the needs within our community such as roads, bridges, and water and sewer services.
Transparency continues to be a priority for Pat. This past term Pat voted in favour of both the new whistleblower policy and the creation of a lobbyist registry to help ensure the integrity of Regional Council going forward.
